participant

Variety of Cars
nice mix for the 80'ish that showed up
Bathrooms
in the bar
Weather
sunny, clouds, a little breeze
Trophy Presentation Timing
about 15 minutes late but they kept it moving

OVERALL THOUGHTS
Great day for a 20 minute drive out to Deerfield. Participant Judging which means some cars that should of really won an award don't (4 cars in my class and mine was easily #4, but I pick up a trophy). Congrats to MMRJR on his best of class award and to the other forum posters that picked up awards too.
Nice location for photos, but a bit out of the way to bring in spectators from off the road.
Seems to be about right for this show, lots of trucks and Mustangs
Trophies & Prizes
Nice trophies and door prizes
Food
Pretty good, to include the crab salad
Entertainment
Standard car show tunes
Judging
Participant, for the first time, used to be a judged show
Dash Plaque
Sort of generic, advertising RockAuto
Variety of Cars
Nice selection of cars and trucks, old and new
Bathrooms
Plenty of facilities for both men and women
Weather
Started out damp, but turned out to be a nice day
Trophy Presentation Timing
Right on time at 3PM
Entry Fee
$10, reasonable for any show
OVERALL THOUGHTS
I was excited to see my car pal, and buddy, Dick Lehnherr win the BEST OF SHOW award! Way to go Dick, your car looked awesome today. In my memory, this is Dick's very first Best of Show Award.
Congrats to GTOMAN, Big Block, and Amigo2K for Best in Class Awards.
The guy doing the announcing was hitting the sauce again today, but the show went pretty smooth. The weather probably kept a few cars at home today (I heard they had 80+ car registered for this show). Door prizes were very plentiful and the goody bag contained a very nice shaped and styled NAPA baseball cap (the new yello camo design).
If anyone knows how to get in touch with Bruce and Kathy Stewart, please let them know that I asked for and received the big car show banner with their car on it. They were last year's BEST OF SHOW winner and they used their car on this year's banner. I have it and would like to pass it on to them at the next show.
Why does it never surprise me the comments year after year include the announcer (and one of the main promoters) drinks too much? I'm sorry, I have nothing against drinking, but do it at someone else's event or wait until your show is over. I really think that's what keeps many away from this show, us included.
Glad to hear the day turned out good and many congrats to Dick on Best of Show and everyone else here that won an award!
Nice location for photos, but a bit out of the way to bring in spectators from off the road.
I agree - its really a beautiful spot but you're not going to draw a lot of foot traffic. I noticed there was some type of festival going on in Deerfield on my drive back - too bad they didn't have some promotion or coordination there to go check out the show
My take on this is you gotta love this show for what it is. Truly, this is a drinking club that has a car problem! Alcohol, and the consumption thereof, along with hosting and promoting a successful classic car show, is what this show is about for the Deerfield Rod and Gun Club. In spite of this, they do put on a good show and can draw the cars and give out very nice door prizes and trophies/awards!
My personal thanks to the Deerfield Rod & Gun Club for hosting, sponsoring, and supporting a classis and collectible car show. Nice job that was well done, and thanks for your hard work!!!!!!!!
