Hats off to the organizers of this show! They have a great location and put on an excellent show! 160 cars showed up which was double last years record year of 80 cars (they have room for about +300). They will get more cars with better weather and if they switch to a judged show.
They put you into your class as you drove in and the classes had long rows and they didn't run out of room (it was nice to see all the mustangs and corvettes each in their own class and not spread out in the a different stock or modified class (the organizers must of watched this closely). They had folks there to park you. It was participant judging and they did it a little different. At noon you went to registration to pick up your ballot. On the ballot there were 5 classes, and you pick your favorite car in the class (also you picked a best of show). Picking up the ballots was quick. Picking out the cars was also quick since they had the classes in rows.
They moved up the trophy presentation by 1 hr, and a couple of the Best of's will be on either their T-shirt for next year (Bruce and Kathy's 34 will be on the t-shirt) or on the dash plaque.
They also mentioned that any profits will go to a scholarship for a student wanting to study something automotive in nature. I like this and hope they do it next year (maybe mix in a 50 50 raffle with the cash going to the scholarship)
Congrats to MoparKid (and Lindsay), ddhemi, MMRJR on their 1st place wins in their class! And Cuda Man on his Best Of pick!
On the way out they had staff members there to wave and say goodbye and drive safe (nice touch)!
First year at this show and thought it was very very well ran! Enjoyed the nice open grassy area. I like how all the cars were parked by class. Bathrooms were easy to get to and rarely had to wait. No one plugged these ones up.......whistle............
Overall this was a great show and well ran with great classes. I will be back next year for sure!!!
Beautiful and huge grassy lawn with plenty of space!
Class Organization
Classes were well organized for a show this size.
Trophies & Prizes
Huge "best of" trophies, some taller than those who won them!!!

Trophy Presentation Timing

This was my first time attending this show and I have to say that I am very impressed!!! They said during the awards this has been the biggest turnout in the years that they've put this on with 160 cars. I cruised down this morning with Amigo2k and DDHemi and it was a nice drive. Saw a lot of cars you don't see at many of the local shows too. The food was excellent, the area for the show is amazing, and every one on the show staff was very knowledgeable and helpful.
The only snafu was during registration and when you had to get your voting ballot - The women at the tent were aware of the issue and were working on it on-the-spot.
This is definately a show I will attend again next year, and I would encourage anyone else to do so, especially if you've never been to this show before!!!
Congrats to DDHemi, MMRJR, and Marshall's buddy Dick with the Impala on there 1st place class awards!! Also congrats to Cuda Man, who won the Committee's choice award. Bruce and Kathy Stewart won Best of Show, congrats to them. Not only did that best of show trophy stand taller than Bruce and Kathy both, but I'm 6 ft tall and it stood taller than me!!! Also got to throw props to my sweetie, affectionately nicknamed Ms. Moparkid, on her class award today with her Impala. Not only did she get a cool trophy, she gets a big old kiss from me too!!!
I have to say I was very suprised that butterscotch '73 Chevy Malibu didn't win anything. IMO, those cars are ugly, but you don't see many of them around nonetheless in that great of condition.
This was my second year at this show. This year's show was even better than last year's show, and last year's show was awesome!!
One of these year's (maybe next year), this show will get a sunny Saturday, and the attendance will skyrocket. Brent does a good job of advertising this show and handing out flyers, and the show has certainly earned a good reputation. The weather has not been the best the past two years.
I have seen Bruce and Kathy receive alot of awards over the years, but I have never seen Bruce any happier than today. He was literally jumpin' for joy when his car was awarded the Best Of Show award. Well earned and congrats to Bruce and Kathy!!! Their car will be on next year's car show t-shirt.
Congrats to Moparkid and his sweetie, DDhemi, Dick Lehnherr, John and Mickie Christianson, and others from the forum who were winners at todays show.
This was my first time at this show and I thought they did a good job. They have a great location with room to expand next year. As others commented, it would have been nice if the weather was a little warmer but that didn't seem to keep people from coming out. I was glad they kept an eye on the weather situation and moved the trophy time up to get people out of the cold.
My only complaint would have to be the dogs! I don't have a problem with dogs, but they have no place at a car show. You typicalIy see a few spectators strolling through with their dogs, but IMO it's even more unacceptable for CAR OWNERS to bring their dogs to the show. The dog beside us WAS on a leash, but is was long enough to reach around the back side of my car and that's where the dog headed as soon as I pulled in. NOT COOL!!!! I asked the owner to keep his dog from coming near my car and they tightened up the slack on the leash. I hope I don't offend any dog lovers out there, but with the hard work and money we all have stuck in our cars--I don't think any of us want "Fido" jumping on our cars or taking a leak on our rims. So my words of wisdom for the day "...give Fido a bone and leave him at home!"
There were a lot of great cars there today and it was nice to see a lot of new ones I haven't seen before. Congrats to all the Forum members on their wins today! This is definitely a show I would go back to next year!
P.S. I'd like to give a special thanks to ddhemi for taking it easy on the porta potties today! :-)
Your right dogs and cars don't mix.. Dogs love trucks..lol I too am tired of seeing people bring their dogs to car shows. These parks put up signs NO DOGS IN PARK, and what is the first thing you see. Some brain surgeon with their dog... :-(
+1 on the dogs at car shows. I have a dog, but he is a pet, not a member of the family. I love dogs, but if I see one dog jump on my car at a show I'll be hauled off Micheal Vick style. I would make an exception if the dog was a seeing eye dog for a blind person and was walking them thru the car show area to look at the vehicles :)
The Jesus Built my Hot Rod Car Show Committee wanted to thank all those that attended this years show for leaving the grounds so clean. After the last car left Dale looked across the grounds and there was not one piece of trash laying. That was very respectful.
Thank you

To be honest, it was my vote for Best of Show.
"Not only did she get a cool trophy, she gets a big old kiss from me too!!! "
Oh god.... please spare us.
Also nice to see Moparkid making new friends at this show. hahaha!

As long as there are no boy scout burgers the port-a-potties will be safe!
