"Lookie here" refers to a DJ from 3D Sound (actually I think there is more than one) who tends to have diarrhea of the mouth. They like to comment about every car arriving at a show by attempting to say something smart or humorous about the car or owner. Mostly they are just really annoying...
Don't get me wrong, Dave Palmer does a great job and is very knowledgeable, but he too can get the "lookie here" swine flu. The gentleman I am reffering to is the large dude who talks way too much. Don't get me wrong, he's a nice guy and polite, but I think he tries too hard to do his job. I'm thankful that I have went two years of shows and not had to deal with that biker mama that was constantly talking over the music with her scruffy smokers voice. This broad couldn't DJ her way out of a wet paper bag! I know I have complained about her in past RTS's, maybe she got let go from 3D sound? Can't say that I miss her...
Mr Palmer has invested quite a bit of time and money into his business, and I wonder if he reads these reviews. 3D Sound is everywhere it seems and I would certainly be concerned about what others thought of the particular DJs and their style. Of course, the event planners could be requesting that all or most of the cars be commented on as they drive into the showgrounds. As a DJ myself with a small one DJ company (me), I understand the difficulties in pleasing everyone...it's hard to do. My personal style is to just let the music flow and do the announcements as asked, although I think I can get carried away with the talking too. I'd like to sit with Mr Palmer and talk shop and car show DJing, I might learn some things.
