Overall today wasn't bad, but this is a show that could use a little work. With that being said, one person did everything for the entire show organazation today, and I compliment her efforts!!! There were only 10 classes, but with the amount of cars in attendance I feel the classes were fair. I would've liked to seen judges, but I'll give this show time to grow.
When Ms. Moparkid and I went to get some lunch, we went to the concessions near the show area. When we walked up to the order stand, we were greeted by some old fart who looks at us and says "What?" Really?! I want to spend money here and you have the attitude? This didn't sit well with me. Turns out they were in the midst of changing over from breakfast to lunch. Not my problem if you're overwhelmed and unprepared. The girlfriend had a had a hot dog, but I refused to give that stand my money due to the attitude recieved from this guy. The other guy was cracking jokes, but he couldn't change my opinion - I went over by the horse pulls and got something there.
The FREE registration was nice, this could definately be an attention getter in the future to make it grow. Lots of nice cars, as I stated earlier it was participant judged. Spectators were also allowed to judge cars... Not sure yet how I feel about that. Perhaps next year there could be a spectator's choice? Not a lot of cars, but the few that were there were all quite nice and some quite unique. I called the Best of Show @ 9am and damned if I wasn't right :)
Can't make the call on next year just yet. We'll see what 2011 brings.

A nice little show in Edgerton today with about 50 cars attending. Lots of unique vehicles and some that I've seen before. Special interest vehicles included an old tow truck, a military truck, and a massive custom 3 wheel truck among other very interesting vehicles. Nice shady location under the tree tops but when the wind kicked in a few small branches fell and hit cars. The lions did a great job organizing this show and the concession had great food. I was told that as the show grows they will expand classes beyond the 10 or so they had today and that is good, I would like to see the original/restored class split but other than that there were ample classes for a show this big. Nice plaques to winners and very nice dash plaques given away for free! with no registration fee (a $2 raffle ticket purchase was highly appreciated but not mandated). Nice music and a very quick trophy presentation. The show ended around 2pm which should have allowed ample time for most people to get home before the rain started.

A dollar to vote for a car...should have taken that deal and voted for whatever car you liked anyway! ...$10 to the first person who can find me a 2009 pardeeville dash plaque, there's an even better deal.

About the guy willing to pay for a vote. This is why shows are loosing there fun for me. Too many people concerned with winning a piece of 10 buck plastic. Not enough interested in just enjoying the day. Give me non judged shows with decent doorprizes,

I could not agree more! I several friends that have some really nice car collections and just refuse to take their cars to any shows and listen to people complain about judging...

Unfortunately that's all too true now... the awards for the shows we attend or host (with the exception of last weekend) cost more than $10. There are lots of people that will not attend a show if awards are not given, and even others that will leave shows if the awards given are not what they're looking for. While I like to earn awards and be recognized for my car, it's the fun and friendships that make the shows worth going to and usually spending the day in the hot, humid sun!
