I've been going to Cindy Lou's for a couple of years now and I have yet to have a bad experience (except a few mosquitos). Steve, the guy that runs the thing is always around to welcome you and get pictures of the cars and hand out ballots, door prize tickets and info placards. There is no charge for anything except the food and that is well worth the money. Somehow financially, they give a trophy every week all summer long and one big one at the end of the season (all the fan favorites compete against each other on that last week) as well as generous door prizes every week. Since I'm sort of new to car shows and cruise in's, I thought most cruise in's were run this way. Ha did I get spoiled?? After venturing forth to some other local places I found just how nice Waterloo's Cindy Lou's really is in comparison.
I've made a bunch of new friends there, it's close, foods good, everyones' pretty friendly and the guy that runs it appreciates the fact that you drove your car there to show it. Doesn't get any better than that.. especially for free!!
Even though I've won my trophy and don't compete anymore until the end, I find myself going back every Thursday just to see the other cars, enjoy the ambiance and make more friends.
Door prizes looked nice, car supplies and diner t-shirts.
Food
Cheeseburger, sour cream fries, and a large pop for $6.
Entertainment
No music... It was nice.
Variety of Cars
Lots of cars I see at local shows, and some that I don't.
Bathrooms
Didn't need to use one.
Weather
A beautiful night to be out!
Entry Fee
FREE!!
This was my first time at this cruise night, and I wish there was something like this closer to home for me. The management welcomes all vehicles (import and domestic) to there cruise nights unlike QSL, where they let you in one week and tell you get f***ed the next. The food was not only priced great, but it also tasted great!
Waterloo is a bit of a hike for me, but it was definately worth it tonight. I hope to make at least one more of these cruise in's before the summer is over.
Yes, you are correct. The staff at Cindy Lou's is more than grateful to those who bring there cars out. I wish that place was closer to home for me, I would go every week!!
Hey Moparkid25, what kind of mopar do you drive? I'll look for it at the rest of the shows I attend. I drive a 73 Cuda. If you make it back to Waterloo or most of the stuff on the east (more north than south though) side of Madison, look me up.
I enjoy your opinions and insights.

FYI....Cindy Lou's had it's last nite of the summer tonight (8/12/2010), so if you were planning on attending later this summer, Don't....you will have to wait until next year.
The over all favorite fan's favorite ended up being a nice 69 Nova this year...sorry, I didn't catch the owners name.
Hope you'll stop in next year if you missed it this year.

What color was the Nova? We didn't get out there this year, too much going on. They normally end those in a couple weeks, there is still lots of summer left!
