It is always a fun drive out there and back. Amazing weather, everyone is friendly, great location. The judging on the other hand has been the same "good ole boys club" from years before. The 97 Trans am (aka cat scratch fever) was up to his old tricks again by having his buds get him an award. Now this car was not in my class. But even Hellen Keller could see that this car deserves nothing more then a good resto. Much better cars were left out while this car gets rewarded simply because he is from the home town. Check past reviews of this show and you will see what i mean. I would recomend getting different judges for next year.

From my home in the scenic hills of western Dane County, it is a fun drive to and from Lancaster.

This show is declining in attendance every year, and I'm not sure why. I don't think there were 75 cars there all together today. There were a lot of nice cars, and there were some local boys showing off there stuff. Members of the Car Club did the judging, and once again this year the some of the local boys got an award whether they deserved it or not. Now, don't get me wrong, a lot of nice cars won deserving awards, and ddhemi, my girlfriend, and myself also recieved awards in our classes. But when you win because your address is Lancaster, I feel thats wrong. Lots of deserving vehicles were passed over for junk, example: one dude had an 85 Pontiac Grand Prix (how many of these do see on the road anymore?) that was the first car he ever bought. Nothing special, 305 automatic car that had been repainted and looked great. Car had a decent interior and sentimental value to this guy. He was from Boscobel I think, but his car was passed up to a local boy with a 97 trans am...the same 97 trans am that last year the owner was walking around with the judges pointing out flaws in other cars in his class, while his sat over parked all dirty, scratched up, and covered in paw prints. ddhemi and I went around and checked this situation out last year because this guy was nit-picking small cracks in the gelcoat of ddhemi's Viper. Fast forward to this year, and the trans am got cleaned up a bit better, but nowhere near show condition IMHO. But somehow he beat out better, older vehicles in his class. I guess its who you know...

I would go back again, but this show definately needs more marketing to get people there. They have a great location, but no one shows up. Maybe the club pissed off a bunch of people a few years back?

All in all still a decent day and a decent show. Congrats to my best bud ddhemi on his win, and to my sweetie on her first show award! I'll congratulate her later... ;)
