This was my first time attending this show, also. I, too, was very impressed with the organization and execution of this show. Everything was very efficient and smooth from registration to the awards presentation at the end of day.
Lake Leota Park is a beautiful, scenic place to host a car show. This show is in conjunction with the community fair, and as expected, there were lots of spectators.
There are not alot of frills with this show, but it works for this show with the limited number of people who park, register and run this show.
Nice mix of old and new, standard and not so standard
Judging
Very thorough, fair and consistent from car to car
Dash Plaque
Very nice, colorful, and unique to this show
Variety of Cars
Nice selection of car, trucks, and cycles
Bathrooms
Plenty, and strategically placed
Weather
Worked out well after the morning train
Trophy Presentation Timing
30 minutes early and nicely done
Entry Fee
$10, but a real bargain with all the door prizes
Very, very well run show. Aaron and his staff were friendly, helpful and enthusiastic the entire day long. Registration was smooth and quick, judging was thorough, fair, and consistent from car to car and from class to class. There were lots and lots of spectators who were genuinely interested in the cars. The awards were very nicely done at the end of the show. Everyone could see and hear as the award were announced and handed out.
The total car count was down because of the morning rains which obviously kept some people at home, who would have otherwise participated in this show.
The door prizes at this show are as good, or better, than any other show we attend during the year.
I was happy to have attended this show again this year, and I will be back next year.
Huge variety of new, old, classic, muscle, collector cars and trucks
Bathrooms
Businesses were open and available
Weather
Cool to cold, drizzle changing to sleet.....
Trophy Presentation Timing
Right on Time
Entry Fee
$20, but appropriate for this event
This was my first year to attend and participate in this event, and it was a pleasant experience to attend and show my car. Although the weather could have been better, the crowds were still large and were very appreciative of the cars that were on display for them.
This is a show where many of the participants don't attend other car shows or show and shines or cruise-ins, so there were quite a few cars that I had never seen before at other shows.
I would encourage other car owners to participate in this show, at least once. The GSSBA has this show very organized and running smooth, and it's a real kick being on State Street on a Saturday, where cars typically aren't allowed to drive!
I really liked this show, for a number of reasons.
Each car owner and participant gets one pick for their favorite car or truck. The top three vote getters are the winners. There is a 100 percent pay out in registration fees. The top winner received over $100 cash award. The second place winner received about $60 cash award and the third place winner took home about $40 cash award. There were no trophies or dash plaques or goodie bags, but the cash awards and pricey door prizes work very well for this show. This show is run well, nicely organized, and relies heavily on local sponsors for door prizes. Hot coffee and donuts were available starting at 8AM for the early arrivals.
Door prizes were plenty and very nice. Many cash gift cards for door prizes such as Kwik Trip $25 cards, Piggly Wiggly Gift Cards $25, etc.
Many at the Waterloo Show wanted to leave to attend the Benefit Show for Belinda Posto at Rev Jim's and the sun was beating down pretty good, so awards were handed out one hour early at 2:00PM. There was literally a convoy of cars straight from Waterloo to Rev. Jim's. Everyone got there with plenty of time to spare.
The big winner at this show was Al Peck (the Candy Girl car) who was the second place cash winner and who also won the grand door prize drawing for the Trek Bike.
Parked by class, best way for a participant judged show

Thanks to forum member, MrSkittles, and his crew at Gordie Boucher for an outstanding show. This was my first time at this show, so I have a fresh perspective. I really like registration as you drive through the Service Department. It was quick and efficient and very unique.
When I saw how many newer, speciality (Rousch, Saleen, Shelby, GT's, etc), high end collector Mustangs at this show, it became very apparent that it was necessary to have three Mustang classes. Trophies in these classes were cut back to 2 per class, instead of 3 Best Of like in the other classes, making this class break-down work very well for this show. Obvously, I am biased here, though, because I am a Mustang driver.
Parking on asphalt is always extra hot, and yesterday was no exception. There was a large tent with chairs and picnic tables, so everyone could get out of the sun. Nice Touch!!!
I liked this show, and I will certainly go back.
My only suggestion would be to have the food vendor stock lots of bottled water, along with soda for next year's show. Bottled water was available inside the dealership, but was sold out by 10AM. Like the other shows this Labor Day weekend, attendance was at a record 172+ cars. This beat last years attendance by 30 cars. There were other cars that parked on Frontage Road and walked into the show and did not show their cars.
Seemed to work pretty good, but heavy in Street Rod and Hot Rods
Trophies & Prizes
Plenty of Awards in each class
Food
Good food, great burgers
Entertainment
Live band that was very good
Judging
Partipant Judged
Dash Plaque
Nice one, plus leftovers from 2008 were free for the taking
Variety of Cars

Park Shelter had plenty
Weather
Just about perfect, with a slight breeze off of the lake

After all these years, I finally made it to a show at Heather's. I wish I could have been going to this show every year, as this was the last show for Heather's, and it was good one!
This show is very well run, nicely managed, resulting in a really fun day in a beautiful park. Parking on grass in the park, in classes, made it easy to judge the cars in each class.
Attendance was about 165 cars today, up from about 140 cars last year.
Thanks to Heather and her crew for not only this year's show, but for hosting and bankrolling this show for the past nine years!!!! It was announced that over the past nine years, Heather has spent approximately $60K towards these shows. It would be gratifying to see another business or promoter step up and continue this show. You won't find a nicer or more scenic location for a car show.
Many more trophies this year, a few door prizes throughout the day
Food
Usual car show food choices, plus many other vendors (cream puffs)
Entertainment
DJ was right on the mark, music was not overwhelming or too loud
Judging
Participant's picks (car/truck and motorcyle), plus many extra awards
Dash Plaque
Last years Best Of Show car on T-shirt and dash plaque
Variety of Cars
Lots of variety from local cars to a Model A driven from Appleton
Bathrooms
Plenty of facilities throughout the park
Weather
Dry, sunny, warm with an occasional wind
Trophy Presentation Timing
Right on Time at 2:30
Entry Fee
Pre-registration fee included a free 2009 Car Show t-shirt
I was very impressed with this show, this year.
I hadn't been back to this Stoughton show since 2006, and many things have changed for the better. This show is back in Mandt Park and it is well organized and well run and really fits well with the Coffee Days Festival.
One of the unique features of this show is that the organizers sends out event staff to select cars for whimsical, special awards, just because they like the car. There were about 20 special awards (trophies) for a variety of cars such as Best Drive-In Car, Best Makin Out in the Back Seat car, Best GM, Best Mopar, Best Paint, Best "I'd live to cruise in that car".....
This show was well attended, with over 100 cars registered, and cars were coming and going all day long.
Congrats to my cruisin buddy, Dick Lehnherr, for his Best Of Show (Convertible) award today!!
Very relaxing, this is a no pressure kind of hometown get together of a bunch of nice cars.
This show is well run, well organized and in a perfect location in a shady park with alot of spectator interest. This show is held in conjunction with the Belleville community wide picnic.
I appreciate the car show staff staying on top of the weather. They cut off participant judging at 12:45, rushed to hand out the remaining door prizes, and the awards were handed out shortly after 1PM. The awards were very nice this year and late 60's era Camaro's won three of the four or five awards. I made it as far as Verona when the rains hit, but I got home without any issues. I think the car count was down this year, maybe 75 - 80 cars for this years show. There were plenty of room left in the park this year at awards time.
All in all, a good show at a good location, run well. I was sorry to have missed Watertown this year, and I have heard great reviews about the Botham show, so who knows for next years pick on this weekend.
I will say that if you plan to attend this show next year, registration actually starts at 10AM or earlier. The flyer says 11AM, but if you want a choice shady spot in the park you should come early.
We veered off the beaten path and picked our own spot under trees
Class Organization
A show this size needs more classes
Trophies & Prizes
Biggest Class trophies of any show, nicely done
Food
Service was good, but quality of food was average, at best
Entertainment
DJ from local radio station in Beaver Dam
Judging
Very detailed judging sheet with room for discretion
Dash Plaque
Much less elaborate this year
Variety of Cars
I am guessing over 600 cars for this show
Bathrooms
Could of used a few more bathrooms throughout the park
Weather
The rains stayed away and the skies were mostly overcast
Trophy Presentation Timing
Trophy presentation was a little early and went quick
Entry Fee
Pre-registration was $7.50, $15 at the show
Congrats to forum members Eclipse_Tuner and RivFan (also Dick Lehnherr, Scott Spharr, Earl Dahlbe, Steve Reiner and others) for Best In Class awards!
The classes were rearranged this year, with a few classes being eliminated and several others being consolidated. Consequently, many more trophies were handed out in each
class.
My car (a vintage Mustang) was in class Q (Sports Cars/Special Interest/Exotics/Corvettes/Mustangs/Kit Cars/Motorcycles/Orphans/etc). The Best in Class winners in this class were a pair of funeral hearses, a Kawasaki motorcyle, a dune buggy, two different AC Cobras, a 2004 Mustang Mach 1, a Jaquar, a vintage Mustang and a vintage Shelby. Next year, I will try to register in the factory stock class, just to get away from this nonsense in Class Q.
There appeared to be many cars in the "mild to full custom" classes this year. As a result, it seemed that the factory stock and modified classes were sparsely populated. The difference between a mild custom and a modified car is confusing to me. I noticed some inconsistency in placing cars in classes at this show. I assume that owners were permitted to determine which class to put their respective cars in, if there were options.
I would like to see some nice door prizes given away at this show, allowing for the $15 fee to get in. A few more bathrooms would have been nice, too. The food was served up quick, maybe too quick for most folks (brats were warm but browned). The ice cream truck line was backed up all day.
This was an OK show, that was run pretty well, but I am in disagreement about the class structure, even though more than enough trophies were handed out for the smaller number of classes. I forgot to take my bug spray and the mosquitos/gnats were pretty active in the AM. Having some bug spray would have been luxurious.
Seems to be about right for this show, lots of trucks and Mustangs
Trophies & Prizes
Nice trophies and door prizes
Food
Pretty good, to include the crab salad
Entertainment
Standard car show tunes
Judging
Participant, for the first time, used to be a judged show
Dash Plaque
Sort of generic, advertising RockAuto
Variety of Cars
Nice selection of cars and trucks, old and new
Bathrooms
Plenty of facilities for both men and women
Weather
Started out damp, but turned out to be a nice day
Trophy Presentation Timing
Right on time at 3PM
Entry Fee
$10, reasonable for any show
I was excited to see my car pal, and buddy, Dick Lehnherr win the BEST OF SHOW award! Way to go Dick, your car looked awesome today. In my memory, this is Dick's very first Best of Show Award.
Congrats to GTOMAN, Big Block, and Amigo2K for Best in Class Awards.
The guy doing the announcing was hitting the sauce again today, but the show went pretty smooth. The weather probably kept a few cars at home today (I heard they had 80+ car registered for this show). Door prizes were very plentiful and the goody bag contained a very nice shaped and styled NAPA baseball cap (the new yello camo design).
If anyone knows how to get in touch with Bruce and Kathy Stewart, please let them know that I asked for and received the big car show banner with their car on it. They were last year's BEST OF SHOW winner and they used their car on this year's banner. I have it and would like to pass it on to them at the next show.
