Eh, the earlier you get there the better. 3 of us were directed to park in a lot, which was fine as we wanted to park together, but the lot we were in was full of screws, nails, and broken glass.
Class Organization
I think the classes were ok, but I don't think the organizers expected the large turnout that they recieved. If they get the same amount of cars or more next year, they may have to break a few up and add some more.
Trophies & Prizes
Very nice awards, and the rat rod awards were very cool!
Food
Wasn't impressed where I ate, but there was plenty to offer and a lot that looked good.
Entertainment
Well, lookie here! I'm going to talk constantly because I love the sound of my own voice...
Judging
Judges had there work cut out for them. Lots of nice cars and tough classes to judge from what I saw!
Dash Plaque
Had to look twice and make sure those were tobacco leaves on it!
Variety of Cars
Lots of local cars, Janesville cars, IL cars, and others I don't see around.
Bathrooms
I did find one port-a-pottie nearby where we were parked.
Weather
A nice day, but HOT in the shade.
Trophy Presentation Timing
Trophies were on time, but then near the end of the award presentation there was some confusion.
Entry Fee

I wasn't sure what to expect going to this show. It was my first year attending, and I had heard mixed reviews. From the sounds of things, there was constructive critiscm from previous years that was taken to heart and effort was put in to this show from that. I got there at 8:45a and was something like car #206 to register! I don't think the organizers expected there show to have as many cars as they did, but they did a good job of keeping everything on track. There first year motorcycle show within the car show was a big hit also! There were a lot of tough classes that I'm glad I didn't have to do any judging for, i.e. Mustangs, Corvettes, and a couple of the Stock classes.
Overall a job well done. You can't control the weather, but damn was it HOT. My only recommendation would be that if this show does get larger, it should be at a local location that will have plenty of room for more car and a place to stake an EZ-Up. Maybe the parking lot of that empty factory near Race Track Park? Of course, someone would have to mow down all the weeds growing up from the cracks beforehand, but that would be an ideal location IMO.
Door prizes looked nice, car supplies and diner t-shirts.
Food
Cheeseburger, sour cream fries, and a large pop for $6.
Entertainment
No music... It was nice.
Variety of Cars
Lots of cars I see at local shows, and some that I don't.
Bathrooms
Didn't need to use one.
Weather
A beautiful night to be out!

This was my first time at this cruise night, and I wish there was something like this closer to home for me. The management welcomes all vehicles (import and domestic) to there cruise nights unlike QSL, where they let you in one week and tell you get f***ed the next. The food was not only priced great, but it also tasted great!
Waterloo is a bit of a hike for me, but it was definately worth it tonight. I hope to make at least one more of these cruise in's before the summer is over.
Good, but as BJ said if he gets more cars he may need to sweet talk the neighbors.

I really like this little venue, and I hope its gets big fast. It is a very nice alternative to those who live west of Madison. You also have down to earth people attending, not all the white collar snobs with there Corvettes and Ferrari's you get at QSL.
I plan to attend the rest of the cruises throughout the summer.
Open, grassy field with plenty of room for the cars.
Class Organization
Parked by class unless you're with a club.
Trophies & Prizes
Always something different in Blanchardville!
Food
Typical burgers, brats, etc. Ice cream was also available!
Entertainment
3D sound. I about sh*t myself when I heard a deep cut off the Master of Puppets album!!!! AWESOME!!!
Judging
I saw some cars win awards that I felt weren't as nice as cars in perspective classes that should've won and didn't.
Dash Plaque
I don't remember getting one... Not saying I didn't, I just don't remember.
Variety of Cars
Voodoo Larry's car was pretty sweet! Always something new to see here.
Bathrooms
Porta potties, and bathrooms near the pavillion and pool.
Weather
Overall I think we lucked out, it could've been a lot worse.
Trophy Presentation Timing
Started a few minutes after 4pm.

Once again an excellent show put on in Blanchardville.
My only real concern was after the awards, there was little league practice taking place on the back diamond while cars were still parked out there. After I let a few expletives fly towards the coaches, Ms. Moparkid settled me down and recommended I tell Frank - which I did :) I don't see any reason that ball practice couldn't have waited a few minutes for the vehicles to clear out, but then again I'm not living my MLB dreams vicariously thru 12 y/o boys either. I trust Frank and know he straighted everything out.
As stated earlier, I felt there were some cars deserving of awards that didnt win anything. Just my two wooden nickles...
St. Vince was quite the suprise too, it was ironic he was there because I debated wearing my favorite shirt today - my Minnesota Vikings #4 jersey!!!
The awards were very nice. All in all it was a great day and I think everyone there lucked out weatherwise, a few sprinkles are better than hail.
Of course I'll be back next year, this is my hometown show!!!
Plenty of room, but if the weather is good you want to get there early!!
Class Organization
No classes, just cool cars.

I've been going to these cruise nights for a couple of years now, so I figure its about time I let others in on the secret. Lots of cars and trucks show up, and its a lot of stuff you dont see at local shows. When you arrive with a car, you recieve a gift certificate for a free burger, and you also recieve a free roll of shop towels and 2 liter bottle of soda!!!
The cruise-in's start at 5p, and go until the last car leaves the lot - which can be past midnight!!
I highly recommend this to someone looking for something different to try on a Saturday Night!!!
Eh... Typical car show fair. See my comments below...
Entertainment
Had WJVL playing on PA system. Not much of a country fan on this side of the fence

Overall today wasn't bad, but this is a show that could use a little work. With that being said, one person did everything for the entire show organazation today, and I compliment her efforts!!! There were only 10 classes, but with the amount of cars in attendance I feel the classes were fair. I would've liked to seen judges, but I'll give this show time to grow.
When Ms. Moparkid and I went to get some lunch, we went to the concessions near the show area. When we walked up to the order stand, we were greeted by some old fart who looks at us and says "What?" Really?! I want to spend money here and you have the attitude? This didn't sit well with me. Turns out they were in the midst of changing over from breakfast to lunch. Not my problem if you're overwhelmed and unprepared. The girlfriend had a had a hot dog, but I refused to give that stand my money due to the attitude recieved from this guy. The other guy was cracking jokes, but he couldn't change my opinion - I went over by the horse pulls and got something there.
The FREE registration was nice, this could definately be an attention getter in the future to make it grow. Lots of nice cars, as I stated earlier it was participant judged. Spectators were also allowed to judge cars... Not sure yet how I feel about that. Perhaps next year there could be a spectator's choice? Not a lot of cars, but the few that were there were all quite nice and some quite unique. I called the Best of Show @ 9am and damned if I wasn't right :)
Can't make the call on next year just yet. We'll see what 2011 brings.
Some vehicles were parked by class, but most parked where they wanted.
Trophies & Prizes
Very nice awards for a show of this size.
Food

Amps with a selection of tunes from the 60s and 70s. It did tend to repeat after while.
Judging

Dash Plaque
No Dash plaques
Variety of Cars
A very nice selection of local cars
Bathrooms
Look like they were scrubbed clean with a tooth brush!
Weather
Couldn't ask for a better day!!!
Trophy Presentation Timing
Prompt at 14:30. I wish more shows had military influence when it came to awards!
Entry Fee
$10, normal.
This is a great show. I wasn't there 5 minutes when Sgt. Neibuhr (sp?) came up, shook hands with me, and thanked me for coming. Not only that, he remembered me from last years' show. A very comfortable atmosphere with many friendly people. Lots of nice cars, both local and from out of town. The count was down from last year, but it can go any direction when having a show on July 4 weekend. Still a great turnout nonetheless, and many of the forum members were award winners today!!!
My only concern was the farthest distance traveled award. It went to a fella from Monticello, WI. Not sure if the staff was thinking Monticello, IA, but the miles traveled was announced as 120 I think (don't quote me on it). Monticello, WI is about 40 miles from Madison. Not really a big deal, just thought I would bring it up for posterity's sake :)
Hat's off to the organizers of this show. I will see you all again next year!!!
Parked where you wanted, and the classes are well thought out.
Trophies & Prizes
Very nice plaques, and to the guy who got all pissy about the awards not being trophies - STFU!!!
Food
Excellent roast beef sandwiches!
Entertainment
Lord Airgtar.
Judging
These guys had there work cut out for them.
Dash Plaque
Nice, original design.
Variety of Cars
Saw a few different cars you usually don't see at local shows.
Bathrooms
Plenty of porta-potties and pavillion restrooms across the street.
Weather
Still raining when we got there, but it cleared up and made for a nice day.
Trophy Presentation Timing
Early!!! How often does that happen?!
Entry Fee
$10 well spent.
It was raining pretty good when I left the homestead this morning. While en route to Oregon, I called circletrack to make sure the show was still on. Ms. Moparkid and I were the first two vehicles to roll in today, and when I pulled up the look on Aaron's face was priceless. When I tell you I will be somewhere, and its to support a good cause, I'm there. We no sooner had the ez-up out of the bag and the RoadApples showed up, from there it was a steady stream of cars rolling in all day. The sun came out, the people came out, and Aaron along with all of his support staff did an excellent job!!!
I talked with Aaron on numerous occasions beforehand regarding his show. There was a lot of 'behind the scenes' BS going on, but when your as dedicated to making a show work like he is, those problems fade away like dust in the wind.
This has immediately become one of my favorite shows. I missed out on Oregon last year because I wasted my time going elsewhere. Bad call on my part. As for the O-town Showdown, I'll be back next year!!!
Nice, grassy area. If you got there early and took advantage of the shady parking, you were lucky. I was glad I brought the EZ-up.
Class Organization
Not parked by class, just parked where you wanted to.
Trophies & Prizes
Very nice door prizes like clay bar kits, atlases, polishing balls, shop towels, etc. Trophies were OK for a first year show, as it is ran differently than years past.
Food
Lots to choose from.
Entertainment
50s and 60s music via the PA system until a live band took over.
Judging
Thought there were some cars that were deserving to win that didn't.
Dash Plaque
Nice size plaque with a hot air balloon on it.
Variety of Cars
A nice selection, and quite a few I've never seen before.
Bathrooms
Indoor facilities that were clean.
Weather
A bright, sunny day. A little less wind would've made it perfect.
Trophy Presentation Timing
They were behind and there was some confusion during the awards. It was also hard to hear the winners due to no PA system used for the awards, though it wouldve been easier to hear had the band not kicked up right before the awards.
Entry Fee
$10
This show is under new direction from what I understand. It was there first year, and they did ok. They've got a few bugs to work out, but the turnout was better than I expected. Upon my arrival, there was only a handful of cars. By the end of the day there was somewhere between 75-100 cars?
I question some of the cars that won awards, namely mine. In my class, I felt there was more cars deserving of an award over mine. I don't know what the judging criteria was though either, as some cars had hoods and trunks down during judging. There was a total of 5 guys judging all of the cars at the same time. My recommendation would be to split them up into groups and have them judge certain classes. Judging also didn't start until 2p, which is nice for those who get there late, but it does make for a long day for everyone. If the classes were divided between judges, I think it would go faster for them.
The door prizes were very nice, as were the trophies.
Definately can't critique this great group of people. I think they did a good job for this being there first year show. I have always enjoyed my time around the Monroe/Brodhead/Monticello area. IMO, its the nicest area in Wisconsin. I'll be back again next year!
