Former Packer Great Gilbert Brown To Make Iola Old Car Show PDF  | Print |  E-mail

Iola, WI July 3 - Former Green Bay Packer legend Gilbert Brown will be making an appearance at the 35th annual Iola Old Car Show on Thursday and Friday July 12 and 13th.


Brown will be at the show for two reasons. First, Brown has over 25 cars in his personal collection and he will be on hand to take in all of the sight and sounds of the show. He also he will be on hand each day for a two hour autograph session starting at 2:00 PM. Proceeds from the autograph sessions will go to benefit the Gilbert Brown Foundation. The foundation runs football camps for children that teach both on-field skills as well as life skills.

Brown, who played 11 seasons in the NFL, was integral part of the Packer’s win in Super Bowl XXXI. His determined play and infectious personality has made him an all-time favorite among Packer fans the world over. His nickname “The Gravedigger� comes from his familiar “shoveling� motions on the field after making a big hit or quarterback sack on the opposing team.

Brown is also part owner of the Milwaukee Mile racetrack and has his own race team “Gilbert Brown Motorsports�. Brown also runs free football camps for children ages 12-17.
