We've decided to create a new section on the forum called Buy American. This area is devoted to the promotion of products made in America. Let me start this off with a HDR photo I took recently:

haha, now that is funny. I was just in China 2 weeks ago on a business trip and drove past the Harley Davidson factory there.
The thing is, we are now in a global economy with global manufacturing. So in all reality, borders and country of origin dont mean a whole lot when judging quality.
This is one reason why GM is in such trouble. They plain and simply got beat by other manufacturers and they failed to adapt to meet that challenge.
I think we are about to see a big equalization between industrial nations, where our dominance will slide backwards and no longer be the superpower that it once was.

GM still builds some of the best built, trustworthy, and economical vehicles in the world. So does Ford. The quality is excellent, and should be for what the UAW gets paid. Foriegn cars are cheap -built cheap, sold cheap, but not cheap to repair.
I will agree with your point GM is a little behind, but GM built vehicles that sold. The Camaro should've been out a few years ago.
I would buy an American car no matter what. Even though you can say "parts of it are built overseas" its still an American car designed in Detroit. The money you pay for it stays in the economy of the USA.
Sorry, Mr. President, but I drive what I want no matter the price of fuel. I also drive what I need, a truck...a GM truck! I refuse to be forced to drive something "green". I don't forsee a Volt or a Prius ever being able to pull a car trailer...

If you want to impress someone in the audio department, buy Sonic Speakers which are made in Cudahy and American Pro DJ CD decks and Mackie Mixer/Amps. I know, it's DJ equipment but think of the sound you'll get out of them.
